Founded in 1999, Legend Flooring is a locally owned and family-operated flooring company built on integrity, craftsmanship, and genuine care for our customers. We’ve created a business that reflects our family values of treating people honestly, standing behind our work, and always putting relationships before profit.

What makes us different is our experience from both sides of the industry. With Doug’s background as a professional flooring installer and Wendy’s education and experience as an interior designer, we understand not only how flooring should look, but how it should perform, feel, and fit your lifestyle for years to come. This combination of technical and design knowledge allows us to guide customers with confidence and professional expertise throughout the entire process.

Over the years, we’ve built our 5-star reputation by doing business the right way, putting morals above profit and always striving to exceed expectations. That commitment is reflected in the long-term relationships we’ve built with customers, installers, and manufacturers throughout Gilbert, Chandler, Mesa, Queen Creek, and the surrounding East Valley communities.

How it started

In 1995, Doug started as a sales associate in the flooring industry under the previous owner. After a few years of learning the industry he and his wife Wendy purchased the business in January of 1999. The name was changed to Legend Flooring 2003 to encompass the variety of products and services we offer. Our location began in Chandler and remained there until August of 2017 when we moved our location into the Town of Gilbert.

More than just floors!

"I went to Legend Flooring to get an estimate on replacing flooring for a condo remodel. When Doug came out to give me an estimate on flooring, he noticed I was remodeling two bathrooms, which required a new tub, new walk-in shower, shower surrounds, granite countertops, sinks, etc. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that Legend Flooring does much more than flooring, and I asked for an additional estimate for those areas. Doug’s estimate was lower than the two I already had, and Doug and Wendy were very helpful in picking out materials. Doug Lentz

Owner – Installation Expert

Doug Lentz co-founded Legend Flooring with his wife Wendy in 1999 with a simple goal: treat customers honestly, do quality work, and build a business people can trust. With decades of hands-on flooring experience, Doug has built a reputation throughout the East Valley for craftsmanship, integrity, and always doing what’s right for the customer.

When he’s not helping customers bring their homes to life, there’s a good chance he’s still checking on installations, solving problems, or making sure every detail meets the Legend Flooring standard.

Wendy Lentz

Owner - Designer

Wendy Lentz co-founded Legend Flooring alongside her husband Doug in 1999 and has helped shape the company’s warm, customer-first culture from the very beginning. With a professional education in interior design and a passion for helping people create beautiful spaces, Wendy brings creativity, a keen design eye, and a personal touch to every project.

Known for making customers feel comfortable and cared for, she believes choosing flooring should feel exciting, not overwhelming.

Benji Lentz

Operations Manager

As Doug and Wendy’s son, Benji grew up around flooring and worked with the installation team at Legend Flooring in his early years. After graduating from Arizona State University and spending time at a Big 4 accounting firm, he realized spreadsheets and corporate meetings were no match for helping people create beautiful homes alongside his family.

And yes, he still knows how to carry flooring and tear out carpet when needed.

Mike Griffith

Flooring & Design Consultant

Mike brings over a decade of experience in the flooring industry to the Legend Flooring team, along with a memorable personality. Known for his sense of humor and easygoing approach, he has a way of making projects feel stress-free while still ensuring all the details are perfect. He is an expert in helping customers make confident decisions and ensuring every project runs smoothly from start to finish.

Outside of work, Mike is something of a local music legend. You’re just as likely to catch him (or one of his four kids) performing at a local spot as you are to find him on a job site.

Wendy Pendleton

Flooring & Design Consultant

Wendy Pendleton brings a powerful blend of professional interior design education and hands-on experience across the construction industry, making her an invaluable guide for customers navigating their flooring projects. She has a natural ability to translate ideas into beautiful, elegant spaces.

As a busy and active mom of five, Wendy understands the importance of durability, practicality, and making a house feel like home.
